I’ve been making mistakes for 20-years.

…In the kitchen, that is.

Back in 1999, I was a bored cruise-line waitress, forgetting about my tables and losing my tips because every morning, on my way to the dining room, I would stop by the kitchen—completely mesmerized by the pastry chef. I’d watch as they gently tapped French macarons on the counter, stuffed cannoli, or meticulously layered crêpe terrines.

Ten years later, I quit my job and began an apprenticeship at Gourmandise The Bakery in Salt Lake City, Utah. Yet, no matter how many cakes I baked or cream puffs I puffed, I was always drawn to the nostalgia of classic hand-held desserts—cookies, brownies, bars… and the occasional cake. So, once my apprenticeship was over, Fattie Cathie was born. Every treat I make is fresh and locally sourced, but most of all, I want them to be memorable.

What’s in a name? Fattie Cathie is both hyperbole and a reclaimed term—one that challenges the idea that food and shame should ever go hand in hand. Desserts shouldn’t be about restriction or guilt, but about joy, balance, and celebration.

At Fattie Cathie, we believe that all bodies are beautiful and deserving of love—just as they are. Food should be about enjoyment, not shame, because every bite should bring happiness, not hesitation.

Quality Ingredients

We do our best to only buy Utah made ingredients that are organic and search out farms within a 25-mile radius.

Curated

Our menu is created in advance for each event. Our goal is to bring flavor pairings that peak your curiosity, yet never overwhelm your palette.

Local

We are a home-produced licensed cottage bakery. I follow strict food guidelines, that are in line with the Utah Department of Agriculture.

We don’t Ship

Yes it’s heartbreaking but we don’t ship. Instead, we hope it was a perfect food memory that will draw you back to the great state of Utah.

COVID-19 and Beyond

I take pride in keeping my home kitchen sanitary, following protocols taught when working in commercial bakeries and restaurants.

Let’s Work Together

We participate in gallery strolls, farmers markets and creator pop-up events. If you’re wanting us to show up for the day, don’t hesitate to reach out and talk shop.
